The OBC Employees Welfare Association (India Post) started its new branch at Salem East Division in a meeting conducted in the forenoon of 23.08.2015.
Sri K Jothikumaran (TN Circle President) presided over the function. Sri D S Harikrishnan (Circle Secretary) and other circle office bearers Sri K Gajendran, Sri S Sunderarajan, Sri M Ramesh, Sri J Purushothaman, Sri N Ramakrishnan, other divisiional and branch office bearers, members participated and delivered their speech.
Everyone emphasised the need for an association exclusively to cater the needs of OBC employees working in Department of Posts.
Sri D Panneersamy (All India President) opened a notice board to display the events of the association at Salem HPO.
Then the following were unanimously elected as office bearers.
President: Sri G Elangoven, Postman, Salem HPO
Vice President: Smt V Jayanthi, Postal Assistant, Salem HPO
Secretary: Sri P Jothimani, Postal Assistant, Salem HPO
Assistant Secretary: Sri A Mathian, Postman, Fairlands PO
Finance Secretary: Sri G Selvam, BPM, Masinaickenpatti BO.
